Offshore flare tip handling method

Conbit’s unique flare-tip replacement method is a mechanical solution, using Conbit’s modular handling equipment. Lifting winches are used in combination with lift frames or davit structures. For the SK316 flare-tip replacement, a gantry-type handling structure has been selected. By using lightweight aluminium components, the overall weight of the system has been kept as low as possible. The gantry will enable the rigging crew to lower the flare tip over the side of the flare-tip access platform. Once it is below the platform, high-speed winches will lift it directly onto a supply vessel.

In addition to designing flare-tip handling systems, Conbit provides flare-tip replacement services for whenever a used flare tip has reached the end of its serviceable life. Conbit has extensive and varied experience in the area of flare-tip replacement.
